VPS Hosting
We’re pleased to announce a number of recent upgrades and enhancements to our managed VPS Hosting infrastructure with the purchase of six new Poweredge 2950 Series III hardware nodes with Dual Xeon 5140 Quad Core CPU’s, 32 Gigabyte ECC DDR2 Memory and connected to our 4 Gbit/s SAN fabric with SAS disks and RAID10. The new hardware nodes have teamed Gigabit network connections to multiple Cisco 3750G access switches offering extremely high network capacity and redundancy for Virtual Server Hosting customers.
The new hardware nodes have been joined to our existing cluster of Linux and Windows Server 2003 x86_64 platforms and expand capacity for our Power, Power Plus, Premier, Premier Plus and Enterprise VPS Hosting plans. In addition we’ve also installed a new onsite backup server for the popular daily backup service allowing for an additional 15 Terabytes of compressed backups. The backup server uses SATA storage and RAID and has an EtherChannel network connection allowing backups and restores at 4Gbit/s.
Redundancy and high availability continue to be a major initiative in our VPS Hosting solutions with standby hardware nodes in each cluster group allowing automatic failover of VPS’s in the event of a hardware fault. Additionally in the event of SAN failure backups are kept on a completely isolated disk array ensuring that Virtual Servers can be restored in a disaster. Backups on our remote storage array are available to customers through the VPS Power Panel web interface allowing self performed restores.
nice work guys. but when is svr 2008 coming?
